Markus Lüpertz. Printworks
Opening:
Duration:
The printmaking work of Markus Lüpertz, one of Germany's best-known artists, has rarely been shown in exhibitions so far. In cooperation with Galerie Breckner in Düsseldorf, selected prints from more than three decades will be on show at the Museum für Druckkunst from February.
From the 1980s to the present, the artist has devoted himself to three techniques, high, gravure and planographic printing. Small-format etchings stand beside huge woodcuts. Man and nature are recurring themes, with links to antiquity and the Renaissance, to literature and music.
